Title

Crimen que no debe quedar impune

Subject

Family-focused coverage of Héctor Souto's death

Description

By displaying photos of family members of the victim, this article served as a very family–focused piece that humanized the death of Héctor Souto. It is full of witnesses and also declarations from Rácing player Roberto Perfumo–a cousin to the victim. The article also focuses heavily on the neighborhood and the impact of Souto's death. The photograph of the victim lists him as 15 years old and a high school student. Other witnesses noticed the climate of antagonism at the stadium beforehand. The paper interviewed family members, such as grandparents and uncles. They also interviewed Héctor's friend and father who attended the match with him. This newspaper did a much better job of getting an immediate and detailed account from the community. The headline, “Crimen Que No Debe Quedar Impune”, sensationalizes this death and serves as a call for justice.
