Title

Scene from "El hincha"

Subject

Famed tango composer Enrique Santos Discépolo crafts his ode to fútbol and fandom

Description

Enrique Santos Discépolo was a famed tango composer who crafted a screenplay that shared his other passion in life: fútbol. The film is heavy on social commentary that was populist in nature, and also centered on what Discépolo saw as the essence of the Argentine character through fútbol. In this scene, the character played by Discépolo confronts club officials about their proposed sale of the local team's star player (and the unwillingness of these officials to listen to the voices of "true" fans).
