Useful to see what fans would have in hand as well as how AFA welcomed its Italian guests. It was a chance for Peron to offer international goodwill and help Argentina gain hosting rights to the 1962 World Cup. Also, it is no coincidence that the three countires whose presence in Argentina were important during the 1950s (England, Spain, Italy) are the most important immigrant groups in Argentine history, in terms of population and influence.
