AFA deliberates on what to do with players that left for Colombia and to prevent more from leaving. AFA president Valentín Suárez floats several ideas to discourage others from following suit, such as denying a re-entry visa to those players who already left to play in Colombia as a way of sending a message to others considering making a similar move. More than pride, AFA understood the exodus of talented players as an economic threat to the national league and its clubs, mostly because those who left for Colombia did so without their club's approval, which meant that the clubs could not profit from a transfer fee.
