Title
La nota ingrata
Subject
Violence mars the championship of the 1946 Copa Sudamericana
Description
In a final between Brazil and the host nation Argentina, fans invade the field. Police respond with excessive force. Félix Frascara laments these "cosas del fútbol" that have nothing to do with soccer. Players began the ruckus with kicks to each others' shins, punches, and even a double fracture on the Argentine captain Salomón. Police intervened and attacked some of the players--mostly Brazilian--which only made matters worse. The game was suspended for 71 minutes.
