These pieces are some of the earliest examples of the mythmaking that took pace when recounting the "official origin" of Argentine soccer, which sought to link Argentina to the Old World in a direct way and thus privilege soccer's evolution in Argentina over other areas of South America. This issue of the magazine from 1915 is one of the earliest examples of a soccer-focused magazine publication in Argentina.
