The most noticeable shift in advertisements from 1955 to 1970 is the shift from the collective (family, brotherhood) and personal grooming to the individual, with a focus on cars, music, outdoor adventure, and a man's partner (families are minimized). Also worth noting the decline in advertisement, with many ads referencing other periodicals under the publishing company Atlántida. Cars, in particular, publicize quite a bit suggesting that readers in 1970 own cars. Television and radio programmers are second major group of advertisers, suggesting that readers already owned televisions and radios.

This particular issue is interesting because it attracted a wide range of sponsors, which saw an opportunity to reach a larger audience due to the new stadium's opening and the special issue of Racing. As a result, the ads here were not directed to the mostly male readership but instead to the whole family. Nonetheless, these ads constructed masculinity in particular ways: fashionable, provider of material goods, sophisticated, a family man. Also: note the ad for cigarettes promoted by a Racing player who says he smokes this brand. This is an age when it was fine for fútbol players to openly drink, smoke, go out dancing, and eat a steady diet of steaks (which will change by the end of the decade.)

Coverage begins of Manchester United's highly-publicized encounter against Estudiantes de La Plata in the second leg of the 1968 Intercontinental Cup. The article focuses on the efforts by Estudiantes to be cordial and respectful during their stay in Manchester, including laying a wreath at the memorial of the victims of the 1958 crash that killed many players and staff of the Mancheste club. Some of the Estudiantes delegation bristled at the way they were portrayed by the English press, especially how some reporters recycled the "animal" label they used to describe the Argentine national team at the 1966 World Cup. Madero and Bilardo, in particular, questioned this label considering they were medical doctors. The coach, Osvaldo Zubeldia, remarked that he saw a more vicious game between Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United the previous week. The authors also hope that the Stretford end of the stands will not resort to some of the violence of recent months (one of the earliest mentions of hooligan groups or supporters).
