El Bachiller believes that the excessive violence at stadiums is a shared responsibility to refrain from accusing referees of corruption or promoting the use of force to calm things down. He attributes this old violence to a national character that looks to blame others first, and was only halted by the introduction of English referees. Once the AFA could not pay their salaries, and Argentine referees returned, the violence resumed.
