Si quieren guerra, hay que darla

Subject

Valuable commentary for its militant tone

Description

“Si quieren guerra, hay que darla”–Brutal and unnecessary: the first words of this fascinating commentary. The author bemoans that fútbol has claimed a victim–a young man assassinated at Huracán Stadium by a gang of criminals. A young man who became the unjustified tribute paid for the passion of the people. For two years now, according to the author, Clarín has discussed the activities going on inside the stadiums, which it describes as an embarrassment. The newspaper calls for a special task force inside the stadium ready to respond at any moment’s notice. It’s up to the fans, however, to kick them out. In essence, the author asks for the fan task-force to dress and act like this despicable “patota”, and attack them at the moment they try to create problems. In other words, fight them their own way.
