The first match of the 1970 Intercontinental Cup, played in Buenos Aires against Dutch side Feyenoord, saw Estudiantes move ahead easily before Feyenoord made the game difficult towards the end. As a result, Feyenoord left Argentina with a good result for the second match in Holland, while the author of this article believes that the team from La Plata might regret not putting the game away when it had the chance.
