El simposium de la violencia
Dublin Core
Title
El simposium de la violencia
Subject
Not a unique overview but rather a commonplace commentary on the increasing violence and aggression on the soccer field in the absence of skill and quality of play
Description
Using a match between Quilmes and Los Andes as an example, this article looks at the increasing tendency by teams to use kicks to the shin and other forms of "foul play" as a valid tactic The cause, according to journalists, is the declining skill of Argentine players But the article also highlights the problem this style of play creates: 12 year-old children yelling "¡mátalo a ése! ¡rómpelo!" at their club heroes The problem is that for these types of fans, ugly tactics are justified if the home team wins, and likewise if the home team is losing
