Title
En Roma, el 'Rio de la Plata' se burla de la iglesia de Santa Agnese
Subject
A report on how Italians view Argentina and its symbolic structures
Description
Mundo Argentino published remarks from Italy on the obelisk in Buenos Aires, remarking that the Italians have poked fun at what they consider as a cheap imitation of the obelisk of the Church of Saint Agnes in Rome. By showing images of other notable obelisks, such as the Washington Monument in D.C., Mundo Argentino argues that the Italians are rather ignorant of the projects of other countries. This article is a good example of how Argentines were often concerned with how the outside world (i.e. Europe) viewed their society.
