Provides a positive look at Argentine soccer through the lens of its official governing body: AFA. This brochure was a part of Argentina's effort to host the 1962 World Cup (which eventually went to Chile). Because Perón is portrayed extensively in this book, it cannot be dated to 1956 when FIFA made the decision to award the 1962 World Cup. Yet, because of the quality of the presentation in multiple languages, AFA most likely published it for FIFA officials touring Argentina. Best bet is that it was published in 1955.

"The Argentine Football Association is pleased to present a graphic and statistical pamphlet of its institutional significance, with an understanding of the social and material mission of the entities that constitute it.

The project began in 1867, a year when the first match was played and the first soccer club of Argentina and the continent was established; continuing with the birth of the Argentine Football Association in 1893; and completed with the later task of extending and consolidating the sport, which today has resulted in hundreds of leagues, thousands of clubs, and millions of practitioners and enthusiasts across the Republic. The beauty, capacity, and number of modern stadiums in Buenos Aires, the Buenos Aires metropole, and in the main cities of the interior of the country, along with the solid structure and responsible administration of the governing association, the moral support and the firm and generous economic backing of the national government, present Argentina, without a doubt, as perfectly capable of meeting the demands of the greatest of (all) soccer events.

From there, making its own the aspirations of the sporting institutions and the people of the nation, the Argentine Football Association, the first American association to join, hopes that Fédération Internationale de Football Association will entrust it with the organization of the VII World Championship—Jules Rimèt Cup—1962, with the absolute assurance of being able to honorably respond to this honor and offer cordial hospitality to the attending delegations and a happy stay in Argentina."
