Title

El control a Pelé fue el primer paso; Ganó el partido una disciplina estricta

Subject

Analysis of the match between Argentina and Brazil

Description

Brazilian press: Brazil lost because they could not decipher the tactical setup by Minella. Brazilian journalists seemed to blame an inefficient offense and a weak defense for Brazil’s loss. Brazil played mediocre, while Argentina played solidly as a team. The commentary from the Argentine coach, however, focused on tactics, and the lack of sportsmanship by Pele. More importantly, the headline entitled “Ganó el partido una disciplina estricta” shows how much has change in Argentina when it comes to "modern" styles that are dependent on disciplined players adhering to specific schemes, as opposed to the old improvisational style. When Argentina works, the modern style becomes more acceptable.
