Subject

Summary of the match between Argentina and England

Description

La Nación praises Argentina’s performance against England in the last match of the tournament, but cautions that an “effective” style of play is no substitute for an “offensive” performance. Also, the paper characterizes the English performance as “European”: void of creativity and sometimes a failure because of its inability to improvise. This match, while not as hyped as the one between both countries over 10 years prior, was still an important match for Argentina's formation (or perpetuation) of national identity.
